Family Novaine 2012: Reminiscent of Kigoma exile!
Our family has a long tradition to pray together. This started in 1995 at a time of the second exile in Tanzania. Our family had to move from Uvira, Congo (DRC) to Kigoma, Tanzania. The most striking example of Christianity we all met was through Pastor John Mitachi who received us in his home! What a hospitality! Poverty is no obstacle where the love of Jesus reigns! Our hearts will never forget this family, who shared the little meal that they had. All that we saw shamed all our preconceived ideas about Christianity which we had, as we saw a lived out Christianity! They extended their hand of help to us with the little they had. We learned Swahili in acceleration, and finally we all knelt down to God, asking for help in tears. It was not long until help came and we left Kigoma for Ngara, Tanzania with great relief and thankfulness. These prayers have been like a rock to us. A House built on a rock withstand tempests. We are now committed to dwelling in God's house by praying, remaining in God's presence, as we let him guide our lives. Each day reflections on how meaningful these prayers are being to us will be posted for your encouragement. Praise the Lord!
